imagePESHAWAR: Speakers at consultative meeting here Thursday underscored the need to streamline and establish long terms linkages between Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) Laboratories and Herbal, Pharmaceutical, Food Industries of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

Dr Shahid Hussain, Executive Director, Commercial Cell (MoST) while addressing participants in the consultative meeting of entrepreneurs, scientists and food technologists held at PCSIR Labs said in order to cope with the challenges of technological era and explore avenues of commercialization, there is an imperative need to streamline and establish long lasting and durable linkages between PCSIR Labs Complex Peshawar and Herbal, Pharmaceutical and Food Industries of Khyber Pakthunkhwa for benefits of people.

The meeting provided a meaningful platform, wherein participants were of the considered opinion to gear up the efforts to maintain close liaison between industrial sector and PCSIR Peshawar, which has the enormous potential, in terms of highly qualified staff, sophisticated equipments and expertise to undertake commercialization activities on innovative and scientific lines.

The meeting was also addressed by Dr Shah Alam Khan, Director General PCSIR Labs Complex Peshawar and highlighted its potential in R&D sector.

Eminent entrepreneurs of KPK attended the meeting and took keen interest in the food, herbal and pharmaceutical products of PCSIR which were put on display in its commercialization section. The participants exchanged their views and expertise for the promotion of commercialization activities launched by PCSIR.
