Shipping activity at Port Qasim

imageKARACHI: One ship carrying containers was berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Monday, port sources said here Tuesday.

Two more ships carrying containers and chemical also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours, the sources added.

Berth occupancy was 35% at the Port on Tuesday where a total four ships namely M.V Nysted Maersk, Bella-L, Nordic Tianjin and Liberty Grace are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, rice, cement and wheat respectively.

A cargo volume of 46429 tonnes comprising 32428 tonnes imports and 14001 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1194 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours, port sources said.
