Shipping activity at Port Qasim

imageKARACHI: Three ships carrying containers and diesel oil were allotted berth at Qasim International and FOTCO Terminals respectively during the last 24 hours, port sources said here Wednesday.

Three more ships scheduled to load/ offload containers, wheat and chemical also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 95% at the port on Wednesday where total number of ten ships namely MV. Nystead Maersk, Hinjin Los Angeles, CGM Moliere, Faith, Dia Duong Sunrise, Recon Emre, Atlantic Glory, Chem Road Journey, Al Soor II and Argent Bright are currently occupying berth to load/ offload containers, cement, rice, wheat, chemical and diesel oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 160936 tonnes comprising 118763 tonnes import and 42,173 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 4,064 containers (Boxes) were handle at the port during the last 24 hours, the sources further said.
