ISLAMABAD: Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Sohail Wajahat H. Siddiqui has urged consumers to avoid wasteful use of energy resources including natural gas.
He said that the energy mix should be balanced with alternate sources, and at present it is heavily dependent on gas.
He said this at a meeting with the senior officers of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources here, says a press release.
Sohail Wajahat H. Siddiqui highlighted the need for long term coordinated planning, including all stakeholders, for overcoming energy shortfall in the country.
The Minister focused on resolution of circular debt and reduction in UFG ratio. Sohail Wajahat elaborated that the Ministry should enhance coordinated efforts among different upstream and downstream sectors, companies and departments for creating awareness among consumers for adopting conservation measures.
