NAWABSHAH: The biggest house robbery in the history of Nawabshah, the hometown of President Asif Ali Zardari, was committed in the wee hours of Tuesday, as the gang of five armed bandits decamped with gold ornaments, cash, mobile phones and other valuables worth Rs15 million from the bungalow of Hindu industrialist Seth Jhaman Das.
The police helpline was contacted continuously for an hour but no one attended the calls, Seth Jhaman Das told.
He said five armed bandits barged into his bungalow located at posh area Housing Society around 3.00a.m and remained there till Fajr prayers making hostage all the inmates. The dacoits took away 250 Tola gold ornaments, Rs600,000/- cash, mobile phones, camera and other valuables.
SSP Khalid Mustafa arrived at the place of incident and assured arresting the accused in three days along with looted things.
Meanwhile, Abdul Qayoom Qureshi, president of Sindh Traders’ Association warned of strike if the robbers were not arrested in a week.
