raza 400LAHORE: Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmed on Monday said PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif wanted to crush opponents, especially in Punjab.

Speaking to media persons along with Shoukat Mehmud Basra, PPP Deputy Parliamentary party leader in the Punjab Assembly, he said the Punjab government had broken all records of political vengeance and implicated leaders of both PPP and PML-Q in fake cases.

He said the Sharif brothers were victimising the opposition for exposing their failures and misdeeds in Punjab.

He said the "emperors of Raiwind" had run amok seeing their imminent downfall. He alleged that billions of rupees were being misused, making Punjab bankrupt.

He said funds allocated for development projects for other cities had been diverted to Lahore. "The PML-N leadership will know its worth in the next elections as the PPP enjoys the support of people," he added. Condemning the cancellation of bails of PPP leaders Makhdoom Shahabud Din and Syed Musa Gillani, he said it was a politically-motivated case.

He said the PPP was a party of martyrs and they were followers of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
