KARACHI: The Chief Secretary Sindh, Raja Muhammad Abbas, has emphasised the need of undertaking far-reaching steps for the eradication of polio.
He was presiding over a meeting in his office here on Wednesday regarding the matters pertaining to the Sindh Health Department.
Raja Abbas directed the Secretary Health that far-reaching measures should be taken to eradicate the polio.
He also warned that no dereliction would be tolerated in this regard.
It was pointed out that a three-day anti-polio campaign would commence from July 16 during which some 7.6 million children would be administered polio drops.
For the purpose 20,300 teams have been formed and that every team consists of two vaccinators.
The Chief Secretary stressed that the anti-polio campaign should be actively monitored and that the standard of the medicine should also be ascertained. Proper security measures should also be adopted.
