imagePESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak Thursday said that extension of prevailing system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the tribal belt was the best solution to the development of tribal areas as the dwellers of the area were familiar with this system.

"We can't afford any new experience," he said while talking to a delegation of UNHCR headed by Neil Buhne, Humanitarian Coordinator, United Nation Resident Coordinator. Representatives of UNHCR and UNDP were present on the occasion.

Talking to the delegation Chief Minister said that unregistered refugees were real problems of the province due to which security problem was created. That is why we have been demanding registration of refugees from very beginning.

He said that no country of the world could allow unregistered foreigners to stay on their territory. He informed that the provincial government had constituted a high level committees to deal with the issue of Afghan refugees. He went on to say that any unregistered Afghan Refugees arrested by police was produced before the committee and was freed after guarantee. Similarly he said that NoC for travel in the province was also provided within two days. He asked UN and other international agencies to focus on education and training of Afghan refugees as we want to make them useful citizens to serve their country in a proper manner.

The CM said that quality of education was the need of hour that transform human being into civilized persons.

He told the delegation that provincial government was striving for promotion of education and was spending a huge amount for the purpose. He said that the provincial government was removing deficiencies in educational institutions and providing required staff and other facilities at schools.

The CM said that English had been introduced at primary level in the province so that children of the poor people could compete with the kids of rich people.

He said that the provincial government had evolved a system, abolished interference and introduced a system of monitoring in education. Training was being imported to teachers with the help of donor organizations.

The CM said that mindset of the people had been changed and now they were focusing on education of female students that is why girls students were excelling the male students in studies.

Referring to Law and order situation, he said that due to Zarb-e-Azb operation and border management, situation had improved to a great extent.

Referring to his visit to England, he said that he had experience to meet and see the Scotland Police and local government system in England.

He said that local government system introduced in the province was far better than the system in England which was appreciated abroad as well.

The CM informed the delegates that integrated planning had been undertaken for the development of Peshawar and problems of the Peshawar were gradually removed. He hoped that 80 km long Mass Transit Project would change destiny of Peshawar.

The Chief Minister said that the NOC condition was removed for establishment of industrial unit.

He said that the provincial government would wish to discuss mutual issues with UN agencies so that joint efforts of the provincial government and UN agencies could prove fruitful for the welfare of humanity.

The delegation appreciated efforts of the provincial government for improvement of law and order, good governance in the province.

They also lauded government reforms in education, health and police sectors and assured further assistance with the provincial government in future.
