RAWALPINDI: Some 4,000 policemen will be deployed in the city to ensure the security of the processions and Majalis to be held in connection with Youm-e-Ali on Monday (June 27).
According to a police spokesman, elite force commandoes, police officials, woman police and volunteers would be deployed on the routes of processions, besides shooters on rooftops of important buildings.
The CCTV cameras would be installed while a single entry point would be allowed to join the main procession. No one would be allowed to carry weapons in the procession.
Some 23 processions and 98 Majalis would be held inconnection with the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (AS). Meanwhile, traffic police has chalked out a comprehensive plan to facilitate motorists on the procession routes.
Rescue 1122 would alet remain alert to meet any untoward incident.
