LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has paid rich tributes to the journalists' struggle for freedom of the press.
In a message on the World Press Freedom Day, he said that those laying down their lives for the freedom of the press, were heroes of the nation.
JI Ameer called upon the government to resolve problems being faced by the journalists community in the discharge of their professional responsibilities.
He said that the media had played a leading role in awakening public conscience. He said that to look after the journalists martyrs was the responsibility of the government.
He pointed out that the JI had already moved a bill for the solution of the journalists problems in the parliament.
