NANGARPARKER: Minister of State and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program Marvi Memon, has said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has initiated program of providing interest free loans to low income population of the country for elimination of unemployment and poverty.
Talking to Hindu women belong to Bheel community at village Malisaro Bheel- a far flung village of Thar desert- on Friday night she stated that she is visiting the area on the instruction of the Prime Minister to inspect that how interest free loans provided under PM's "Rozgar" scheme were being utilized and what impacts they were bearing on the lives of the low income people.
She said that the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was committed to resolve all issues being faced by the country and to serve the nation without any discrimination.
Marvi Memon went into a straw hut of a Bheel woman, Chandoo, lit the fire and herself cooked the fish- she brought from Thatta- and had the food along with the women in the hut. On the occasion women of the village presented her a gift of traditional Rali and Sindhi Chaadar.
Later the BISP chairperson, visited the historical well of Bhalwa, associated with courageous feminine character of Marvi who set an example of patriotism and pious by declining the marriage proposal of ruler of the area.
She met with the local women and youth and inquired about their problems.
