QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch has said that under a conspiracy extremism, sectarianism and negativity were being promoted in Balochistan to push our peaceful society towards destruction.
He was talking to different delegations in his home town Turbat. He said, "We are Muslims from generations to generations and extremism and sectarianism will further divide us and push us towards destruction," adding that under a conspiracy, extremism was being promoted in Balochistan.
"We will have to promote moderate and progressive school of thought to foil sectarianism and negativity in order to keep our society peaceful," he said. He said the government would discourage such trends which promote chaos and damage development process.
He said that his government was taking practical measures for development of the region. "Work to execute Turbat Dates Factory project was underway and Turbat will become industrial zone soon," he said adding that farmers of dates would be provided packing material free of cost.
He said that the government would also ink a new agreement with Iran for supply of electricity to Mekran division.
