SHEIKHUPURA: Four terrorists were killed in a shootout with police and other law enforcement agencies near Ferozewala, in the wee hours on Monday.
According to police, law enforcement agencies along with police raided a house at Royal city, Ferozewala to arrest the terrorists. Seeing police, a terrorist who was wearing a suicide jacket blew himself up while his three accomplices were killed in a cross firing with the personnel of law enforcement agencies. The raiding teams arrested their two accomplices who received bullet injuries in the encounter. On information, Addl IG CTD Rai Muhammad Tahir, RPO Sheikhupura Shehzad Sultan, DPO Sheikhupura Sohail Zafar Chatha, Addl SP Jawad Tariq, SP Investigation Rana Mumtaz Ahmad and security Incharge Mian Manzoor Ahmad along with heavy contingent of police reached the spot and cordoned off the area. The terrorists have yet to be identified.
The police have sent the bodies to District headquarters hospital for autopsy. The injured terrorists have also been shifted to the hospital under police custody.
It is pertinent to mention here that Faisal Mubashar son of Mehmood Ahmad had built a house at Royal City about two months ago and rented out the house on the name of Chaman s/o Aman Shah ten days ago.
