ISLAMABAD: Senator Rehman Malik of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Tuesday urged the media to play a proactive role and follow code and conduct.
Speaking on a point of order in the Senate, he said the leadership of political parties were being insulted by the media through comedy programmes.
He urged the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulator Authority (PEMRA) to take notice of code of conduct's violation by media houses.
Senator Tahir Hussain Mashhadi of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, on a point of order, said rural areas were experincing some 18 to 22 hours electricity loadshedding and asked the government to measures to overcome the power shortage.
