KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon has directed the KMC administrator and the Managing Director KWSB to ensure the enforcement of "bio-metric attendance" of employees within one week.
The minister, presiding over a high level meeting of the officers of KMC and KWSB at his office on Tuesday, also directed the Managing Director KWSB to overcome water shortages in the city immediately.
He also called for gearing up tax recovery with the help of Sindh Member, Board of Revenue.
The Sindh Bank president apprised the minister that more than 20,000 employees' accounts have been opened so far, adding that there are some issues in opening the accounts that would be resolved soon.
The minister directed that if any officers have more than one official car it should be taken back and their promotion record be retrieved and academic qualifications scrutinised.
Sharjeel Memon asked the KMC administrator to install beautiful fountains at all major round-abouts of the city. He directed all DMC administrators to remove wall-chalking in their respective areas.
He directed the KWSB to improve sewerage system in the city, adding that monitoring teams with engineers should visit the areas.
The minister said all the illegal billboards and signboard be removed.
