HYDERABAD: A small portion of a railway track near Hussainabad area was blown up through an improvised explosive device here on Monday. According to police, a small explosive timed device weighing around 500 grams was planted on the track which blew about 2 feet piece of the track.
Police suspected the banned outfit Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz behind the incident, which had been blamed in the past for such attacks.
An FIR has been registered at Qasimabad police station on the complaint of Inspector of Railways Ansar Ahmed Khan against unknown suspects under sections 3/4 of Anti Terrorism Act (ATC) and 427 Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Police carried out search operations in several localities of Qasimabad, GOR Colony, Wahdat Colony and Hussainabad in aftermath of the incident.
