LARKANA: The three-day anti-polio drive launched to administer polio drops to children under the age of five years, successfully concluded here on Wednesday.
District Health Officer, Dr. Khalilullah Shaikh told APP on Thursday evening, that 735 mobile teams were engaged to visit houses and administer polio drops to the concerned children. He said during the campaign more than 310228 children were given anti-polio drops.
He also said that the mobile teams also visited remote and far-flung areas throughout Larkana district and administered Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) to the children.
The DHO regretted that a negative propaganda campaign had been launched against Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV).
He said that polio eradication drive was in a decisive phase in all the Talukas of Larkana district and therefore a coordinated strategy by the authorities, donor agencies and health professionals is required.
