Govt employees file 891 cases against Finance Division in last three years, Senate told
ISLAMABAD: The Government employees have filed 891 cases against the Finance Division in last three years, which are at various stages in various courts, Senate was told on Friday.
In a written reply to the question of Adnan Khan, Minister for Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatisation Muhammad Ishaq Dar said eight cases were pending in Supreme Court (SC), 384 cases were in Islamabad High Court (IHC), 117 cases were in Lahore High Court (LHC), 24 cases were filed in Peshawar High Court (PHC), 30 in Sindh High Court (SHC) and 328 cases were in Federal Service Tribunal (FST).
He said a total of 39 judgments have been received from various courts/ tribunals during the last three years. The finance Division had filed Intra Court Appeals (ICA) for review against the said judgment mainly on account of their significant financial implications.
Giving year wise details of 2014 cases, he said 235 cases were in various courts during the year. He said 2 cases were in Supreme Court, 121 in Islamabad High Court, 50 in Lahore High Court, 9 in Peshawar High Court, 15 in Sindh High Court and 38 were in Federal Services Tribunals Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
In 2013, 353 cases were at various stages in various courts including 4 in SC, 176 in IHC, 38 in LHC, 12 in PHC, 11 in SHC and 112 in Federal Service Tribunal of Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
He said 303 cases were in various courts in 2012. Including 2 in SC, 87 in IHC, 29 in LHC, 29 in PHC, 3 in SHC, 4 in SHC and 178 in Federal Service Tribunals of Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
