ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari has congratulated the winners of the Senate election and expressed hope that they will play a positive role in the Upper House of the Parliament.
In a press statement, Chairman Bokhari said the Senate is a symbol of federating units and it has played an important role in ensuring the continuation of democracy and supremacy of the Constitution.
He expressed gratitude for the contribution of senior politicians, constitutional experts and lawyers in the present Senate who played their part in bringing about meaningful legislation.
Chairman Senate hoped that the newly elected Senators will work hard for betterment of the people and rule of law leading to progress in the country.
Deputy Chairman Sabir Ali Baloch has also congratulated newly elected Senators and the political parties in the government and the opposition for taking part in the electoral process.
