ISLAMABAD: The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has congratulated S M Muneer Chief Executive, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) on organizing successful Expo Pakistan from Feb 26 to March 1, 2015 in Karachi.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Mian Muhammad Idrees, President, Sr. Vice President Abdul Rahim Janoo, all Vice Presidents and a large number of FPCCI members congratulated S M Muneer for organizing successful Expo Pakistan.
While admiring and expressing their utmost satisfaction they declared the 9th edition of Expo Pakistan the ever best Expo in all terms as compare to the past editions.
The Expo Pakistan participated by more than 900 leading Pakistani companies witnessed a large number of foreign buyers who shown interest in Pakistani products and placed orders of US$ 2 Billion which is a great source of encouragement for promotion of our exports, Mian Idrees and other office bearers added.
They further said that this Expo would significantly contribute in promotion of bilateral trade and economic relations of the visiting delegates.
Mian Idrees while attributing the success of Expo to S. M. Muneer said that it was the first time that this expo attracted 70 countries and around more than 1000 foreign genuine delegates/buyers from different countries attended this expo.
He further said that FPCCI has already declared 2015 as the "Year of Economic Revival of Pakistan" and 9th Expo Pakistan is one of the initial steps towards the economic revival of our country.
Mian Idress and other office bearers who had fruitful meetings with the foreign delegates at Expo said that the 9th edition of Expo Pakistan would bring about economic changes in Pakistan and uplift the image of the country.
They said that this expo will also contribute in eliminating the negative perception of Pakistan being projected by foreign media.
They said that the foreign delegates have expressed their views that Pakistan is a land of opportunities having great trade and investment potentials in various sectors.
It is also encouraging that the foreign delegates went back with satisfaction declaring Expo Pakistan an international event. This Expo was no way less than any international expo because of the hard work of S M Muneer, they added.
They said that the entire business community was of the view that the present government was sincerely making efforts for providing level playing field for enhancement of trade and economic activities and it has also taken the business community on board for the economic revival of Pakistan which has kick started with this expo.
It may be mentioned here that Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) under Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan organized the 9th Edition of Expo Pakistan 2015 in Karachi EXPO Center from February 26 to March 1st, 2015. The exhibition was organized in 06 halls.
All federal government and provincial government departments extended full support to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Ministry of Commerce to make this event a success.
The TDAP was thankful to all the heads and officials of Federal and Provincial governments' departments, who extended their full support and cooperation to make this event a success especially.
Highlights the event, a statement of TDAP said that overall 571 exhibitors, who are the leading exporters of Pakistan, have setup their stalls and over 750 foreign buyers/ importers from 77 countries have visited Expo Pakistan 2015.
The TDAP had facilitated the foreign buyers with services of interpreters in Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish, Arabic, German and Russian languages.
The countries which participated are Argentina, Japan, China, Russian Federation, USA, Brazil, Netherlands, Poland, Malaysia, Saudi-Arabia, UAE, UK, Japan, Iran, South-Africa, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Hong-Kong, Italy, Iran, South Vietnam, South Korea, Germany, Kazakhstan, France, Mauritius, Bahrain, Indonesia, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Yemen, Kenya, Czech Republic, Greece, Belgium, Australia, Latvia, Lithuania, Columbia, Croatia, Canada, Egypt, Turkey, Ukraine, Iraq, Jordan, Spain, Panama, San Marino, Bulgaria, Tanzania, Cuba, Sudan, Hungary, Singapore, Chile, Peru, Bosnia, Paraguay, Sri lanka, Kuwait etc.
`The EXPO event was formally launched in Governor House on February 25, 2015 in the presence of Khurram Dastagir Federal - Minister of Commerce, Ishrat-ul-Ibad - Governor Sindh,Arbab Shahzad - Secretary Commerce, S.M Munir- Chief Executive TDAP, Madam Rabiya Javeri Agha - Secretary TDAP, foreign delegates and exhibitors of Expo Pakistan 2015.
This year the fashion shows were conducted in a local hotel on February 26th -27.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif inaugurated one of the country's biggest trade fair `Expo Pakistan' on February 26, 2015 and conferred best exporters Awards.
