ISLAMABAD: Member National Assembly (MNA) Marvi Memon Wednesday vowed to make the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) more effective for uplift and welfare of downtrodden segments of the society especially women.
Marvi, who has been appointed as Chairperson of BISP, said she would make all out efforts to serve needy in line with the vision and manifesto of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
Talking to PTV, she thanked Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for reposing confidence on her and expressed strong commitment to come upto expectations of the PML-N leadership by serving the suffering humanity with full vigour.
Describing the appointment 'a big responsibility,' Marvi said BISP was internationally recognized and it would be made a more vibrant scheme.
PML-N, she said, believed in mitigating sufferings of the common man, improving their living standard and making them self- reliant so that they could become useful members of the society.
