FAISALABAD: Garh police claimed to have killed a robber in an encounter with police here on Sunday.
A police spokesman said here on Sunday that Ata Muhammad Sial of Killianwala was going home on a motorcycle when two dacoits snatched his two-wheeler and Rs 20,000 near Adda Killianwala.
Ata Muhammad informed police which chased dacoits and, near Pattan Pepal, police encircled them but they opened firing on police.
In retaliation,police killed a dacoits whereas his accomplice fled.
The killed was identified Abdul Ghafoor alias Ghafoori of Chak No.49 Chunda and the government had fixed Rs 200,000
for his head money as he was wanted to police in a number of cases of murder, dacoity, robbery, attempt to murder and other heinous crimes, he added.
