HYDERABAD: The SSP Hyderabad Irfan Baloch distributed compensation cheques valuing Rs 2 million each among the widows of nine martyred police constables at a simple ceremony held at his office here Thursday.
The wives of martyred policemen Khuda Baksh, Mohammad Safar, Mohammad Riaz, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Muhammad Faisal, Shahid Bashir, Mohammed Ashraf and Mohammed Ramzan received Rs two million cheques each while the wife of Gul Muhammad was given Rs. 300,000 cheque as she has already been given the remaining compensation.
Speaking on the occasion, the SSP paid glowing tribute to the martyrs saying that they sacrificed their lives while fighting against the terrorists and outlaws.
He said the Hyderabad police were fighting against the criminals to restore peace and maintain law and order in the district.
