Polls for LG third round begins

QUETTA: Polling for the third phase of Local Government elections for the seats of Labours and Peasants has started at 9 am and would remained continued till 3 pm across the province.

As many as 10 polling stations have been established for 6 vacant posts of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation while 338 for other seats in other districts of the province.

Final results would be made public on January 2, Election Commission provincial office sources said.

In the first phase of the process, elections for "direct" seats in the local councils were held.

In the second phase, elections were held for seats reserved for women and non-Muslims.In the last phase, heads and deputy heads of local governments will be elected.
