LAHORE: Former Supreme Court Bar Association President, Asma Jehangir Friday said sit-ins' politics promoted " Oye Oye" culture which would not benefit the country.
Talking to the media on occasion of Supreme Court Bar Association elections here, she said rhetoric were being heard in the country's politics now after the film "Maula Jutt" but this sort of politics was not in the interest of the country.
To a question, she said if big mandate was stolen then it makes sense to cry but if one failed to get the desired mandate then was there any need to cry?
She said lawyers' politics was based on principles and expressed hope that new bar leadership would be helpful in promoting culture of tolerance in the country.
