imagePESHAWAR: The three-day anti polio campaign continued in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wherein 19,82,329 million children would be administered Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV).

Officials of Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) told APP the three days anti-polio campaign has been started in Batagram, Buner, DI Khan, Haripur, Malakand, Shangla, Manshera, Nowshera, Swabi, Swat and Torghar districts on Monday and will continue till Wednesday.

As many as 6118 teams were constituted to vaccinate the target children in these districts, the officials said, adding the campaign in the remaining districts will start from October 27.

Apart from officials of Health Department, the Lady Health Workers, volunteers, social mobilizers and polio are also assisting in making this campaign a success. A significant decline has been reported in refusal cases, owing to cooperation of academicians, parents, media awareness campaigns and religious scholars.

The people have been requested to bring their children to nearest hospitals and BHUs for vaccination in case the teams did not arrive at their doorsteps.
