FAISALABAD: The police have booked 27 farmers of two villages on the charge of stealing canal water from Gogera Branch.
A police spokesman told here on Saturday that the irrigation officer moved complaints before the police that 14 farmers of Chak No.631-GB Abdul Hameed etc. and 13 peasants of Chak No.433-GB Muzammal etc. altered the water channels and irrigated their lands by stealing water from Gogera Branch Canal.
Lundianwala police registered separate cases against 27 farmers and started search for the arrest of accused, spokesman added.
