ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 578 kg charas, 13.45 kg heroin, six kg opium and 500 gram amphetamine worth Rs. 244 million, arresting 15 persons including a lady smuggler and seized three vehicles.
ANF conducted 12 operations in various cities including Islamabad, Attock, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Gilgit, Quetta and Karachi, said a press release issued here on Friday.
According to details, ANF Peshawar intercepted a Tractor Trolley No. MND-8689 near Kacaha Garhi, Jamrud Road, Peshawar and recovered 450 kg charas tactfully concealed in secret cavities of the trolley.
An accused namely, Pervez Iqbal Khan r/o Peshawar has been arrested at the spot.
ANF Peshawar in an operation conducted at main Motorway Toll Plaza, arrested a lady smuggler, Sumera Altaf r/o Nowshera and recovered 500 gram amphetamine from her possession. She was arrested while travelling in a passenger van Toyota Hiace No.LES-5999 coming from Peshawar.
ANF Peshawar during routine checking at main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar arrested Kamran Khan r/o Nowshera and Mehrab Gul r/o Peshawar and recovered 450 gm heroin from their personal possession. They were arrested while travelling in a Passenger Van Toyota Hiace No. LES-8899 coming from Peshawar.
ANF Quetta intercepted a car near LBRT Hospital, Saryab Road, Quetta and seized 94 kg charas concealed in secret cavities of the car.An accused namely, Muhammad Yousuf was arrested at the spot.
As per initial investigations, drug was being smuggled for local consumption.
ANF Karachi in an operation carried out at a house located in the area of Punjabi Para, Ibrahim Haideri, Karachi arrested two drug peddlers Muhammad Uras and Younus, both resident of Karachi along with 14.473 kg charas.
ANF Lahore road check team intercepted a Suzuki Mehran Car No. 2546 at Main Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad and recovered 12 kg charas and six kg opium from the secret cavities of the car.
Two persons including Muhammad Saeed Khan r/o Charsadah and Atta Ullah Khan r/o Peshawar were arrested at the spot.
ANF Lahore arrested Shafique Ali r/o Faisalabad and recovered 2.8 kg charas from his possession. He was arrested in an operation conducted near Kohistan Bus Stand, Faisalabad.
ANF Rawalpindi apprehended a passenger Talib Hussain r/o Gujrat at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad and recovered six kg heroin tactfully concealed in his luggage.
He intended to take off by Emirates Airline Flight No. EK-615 to Spain via Dubai.
ANF Rawalpindi in an operation conducted at a house in village Saidan, near Tehsil Hazro District Attock arrested a drug paddler Najab Khan r/o Attock and recovered two kg heroin from his possession.
As per reports, he is involved in supply of drugs at local level local.
ANF Rawalpindi carried out an operation at Village Minwar, Karakoram Highway, near Gilgit city and arrested a drug peddler Akbar Alam r/o Gilgit along with 4 kg charas.
ANF Rawalpindi in an operation conducted near Irfan CNG, Taramri Chowk, Islamabad arrested Syed Muhammad Hussain Shah r/o Islamabad and recovered 600 gm charas from his personal possession.
ANF Rawalpindi Airport team intercepted a passenger Muhammad Malik r/o Gujrat at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 5 kg heroin concealed in his bag.
He was boarding for Italy via Dubai by Eitehad Airline Flight No. EY-234.
All cases have been registered in ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under progress.
