imageKARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) activists have urged Pakistan Tehrik e Insaaf's chief, Imran Khan to come forward with an elaborate program focussed on addressing the political and economic difficulties of the country.

Mirza Maqbool Ahmad, the President, PPP, district Korangi, Karachi in a statement said there was no denial to fact that country's economic problems as well as political discrepancies needed to be addressed on urgent footing.

"Yet there was also no logic for the stance adopted by PTI with specific reference to their demand that PM Nawaz Sharif must resign from his office," said the activist.

"He is an elected PM who assumed his office only a little more than year ago and hence there could be no comparison between him and former Egyptian President, Hoosni Mubarak.

Mirza said Imran Khan's approach is inappropriate in a democratic set-up where constitution exists with its inherent components to address crisis situations.

"Moreover, since our country is also in a state of war hence any bonapartism on part of any politician or anyone else is also not acceptable," said Aun Jaffery, another PPP activist.

He said both Imran Khan and the chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) need to show flexibility and also be careful towards the language they are using against their opponents.
