KARACHI: The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has appealed to Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chief, Dr Tahirul Qadri to maintain his march towards Islamabad peaceful and also ensure that it does not cross the Zero-Point and enter into the red zone.
In a statement on Friday, he said that since the federal government has showed maturity and wisdom in resolving the blockade issue it was now the PAT responsibility to ensure that no law and order situation is created at any stage.
MQM chief urged the PAT leadership to acknowledge those who facilitated the dialogue between them and the government and helped resolving the deadlock.
"These individuals could be honoured through keeping the exercise absolutely peaceful and no law and order situation created at any stage," said the leader.
Altaf Hussain also appealed to the leadership and workers of PAT in the name of Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to make the long march peaceful and not to enter into the red zone.
He particularly hailed the role played by Governor of Punjab, Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, Governor of Sindh, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan and others who helped avert a serious situation that may have caused loss to the country and its people.
