imageISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has directed the Competition Commission of Pakistan to decide the complaint of Wise Communication Systems (Private) Limited against their blockage of services to consumers within 10 days.

A single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Noor-ul-Haq N. Qureshi resumed hearing of a plea filed by Wise Communication, seeking direction for Competition Commission of Pakistan to decide the complaint which is pending for almost 7 months. During the course of hearing, Barrister Afzal Hussain counsel for petitioner apprised the bench that his client company is a licensed company to provide telecommunication services to the consumers and was practically shut down, claiming, due to the abuse of dominant position by the PTCL.

He argued that the Petitioner filed Complaint on 24 December 2013 under section 3 of the Competition Act, 2010 before the (CCP) for the protection of its legal rights, however, it has been more than Six (06) months but the CCP has not decided the complaint of the Petitioner, and the Petitioner is continuously suffering losses of millions of Pak Rupees per month.

After hearing the arguments of the counsel for the petitioner company, the IHC Bench issued direction to the CCP to decide the complaint of the petitioner within 10 days and submit compliance report through Deputy Registrar (Judicial) Islamabad High Court and disposed off the writ petition.
