imageISLAMABAD: The federal government will spend rupees 11 billion for imparting vocational training to jobless youth across the country under Prime Minister "Hunarmand Pakistan" programme.

Executive Director, National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) Khalid Hanif unfolding the distinctive features of the programme,told APP here on Wednesday that NAVTTC has mapped a comprehensive plan to launch development projects in all provinces with a sole objective of help imparting technical training to unemployed youth.

He said that on the special directive of the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the jobless youth of Balochistan have been the top most priority under "Aghaz-e-Haqooq" Balochistan.

He said that 10 development projects out of a total of 22 have been approved exclusively for vocational training to 1230 jobless youth of Balochistan.

He said that one of nationwide pilot project has been ventured in collaboration with Pakistan Air Force in which 800 jobless male and female youth in different 18 demand driven trades will be trained.

He said two projects each have been launched for training of 100 youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA while 740 youth from Sindh will also benefit under two projects.

He said that around 150 unskilled youth of Azad Jammu, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan will also be trained.

He said four identical projects have also been undertaken in Punjab for 765 youth and two projects in Islamabad for 275 youth.

Khalid Hanif said that NAVTTC board of members has recently approved a total of 22 projects costing rupees 257.3007 million for imparting technical and vocational training to 4060 jobless male and female youth throughout the country.

He said that NAVTTC is an apex regulatory body for the promotion of demand driven technical education and vocational training in the country.

Executive Director said that the importance of TEVT was being realized and recognized the world over for economic stability so the skilled manpower is key to socio economic development of the country.

He said that "we are playing very active role in imparting market's needs based technical education and vocational training to youth and enable them for earn their livelihood honorably in the society besides contribution towards national development", he concluded.
