ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari has underscored the need for more trade and business links between Pakistan and Italy to boost the economy and bring the people of the two sides more closer.
Nayyer Bokhari expressed these views while talking to Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani here on Tuesday at the Parliament House.
In his welcome remarks, the chairman said that Pakistan highly values its bilateral relations with Italy and "we desire to further enhance mutual cooperation in different fields."
He said that Pakistan offers conducive environment for investment and the Italian investors can invest in different sectors particularly energy, textile and others.
"Pakistan and Italy share common perceptions about regional and international issues and both sides were supporting each other at international fora," he added.
The chairman acknowledged the Italian support in GSP Plus and also emphasized more cooperation at parliamentary level to strengthen bilateral relations and pave the way for cooperation in many fields.
Earlier, the Ambassador informed the chairman about the existing scope of cooperation and said that potential exists for investment in oil and gas and other sectors.
He said that Pakistani community in Italy is playing a very positive role.
He agreed with the views of Chairman for enhanced linkages at parliamentary, business and trade level.
The Ambassador thanked Nayyer Bokhari for warm welcome at Parliament House.
