imageLAHORE: Punjab Highway Patrol arrested 513 culprits, including proclaimed offenders, and registered 842 cases against them in first quarter of 2014.

The PHP sources said on Thursday, officials arrested 121 accused with illegal weapons and registered 103 cases against them besides recovering two Kalashinkovs, 26 guns, 74 pistols, 29 magazines and 1,816 rounds.

Police arrested 167 culprits involved in drug business and registered 100 cases against them and recovered 2Kg hashish and 339 litter liquor.

The PHP recovered stolen items, including 12 vehicles Rs 1,243,270 in cash, cotton worth Rs 8,500,000, wood worth Rs 23,101,00, seven cattle, 30 cell phones and 1,510kg meat.

The PHP rendered help 35,621 commuters, removed 659 encroachments, issued 15,122 tickets and reunited 89 missing children to their parents, the sources added.
