ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Aftab Sheikh has termed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's meeting with former President Asif Ali Zardari as continuity of Charter of Democracy (CoD).
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said that spirit of Charter of Democracy ( CoD) stresses opposition to avoid politics of agitation and work together for strengthening democracy.
He said that both major political parties of the country are following the CoD with true letter and spirit.
The minister emphasized that all national institutions should work as per their constitutional ambit to overcome the crises faced by the country.
He said that it is a good omen that all political parties realized the importance of working together to get rid of these crises.
PPP leader Mehreen Anwar Raja also termed the meeting of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari as an important development.
She said that leaders' maturity will boost the development and progress of the country.
She further said that today's meeting is the result of reconciliation policy of the Pakistan Peoples Party.
Mehreen Anwar Raja said that her party does not want the derailment of democracy. The meeting indicates that both parties want strengthening of democracy, she remarked.
