KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain felicitated the nation and all countrymen living abroad on the 66th Independence Day of the country.
He said that extremism must be brought to end so as to realize the dream of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah about a prosperous Pakistan.
In a special congratulatory message issued on the eve of Independence Day, the MQM chief said that the true spirit of the country's creation and the blessings of independence could not be achieved unless the feudal system was eradicated from the country.
He said that the MQM mindful of the fact that there was a need to take concrete measures and chalk out a comprehensive policy against terrorism has issued a national counter terrorism policy on the 66th Independence Day of the country.
He said that with a view to making the country a democratic and a welfare state in accordance with dream and philosophy of Quaid-i-Azam it was imperative to bring an end to extremism and feudal system from the country.
The MQM chief emphasized the need for giving equal rights to all the minorities living the country, ensuring sanctity of their places of worships.
At the outset, Altaf Hussain exhorted all the Pakistanis to pledge on this auspicious occasion of Independence Day that they would play their role against the prevailing feudal system so as to realize the dream of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
