ISLAMABAD: Energy expert Adeel Ghayur has said that along with foreign investors, government should also focus on local investors to overcome the energy crises.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that if private investors in Pakistan are encouraged they would be ready to invest in the field.
He praised the inauguration of New Bong Escape Hydel-power project in Azad Kashmir and said that it is the first project inaugurated in the last few decades that does not comes under the definition of mini or micro hydel-power projects, projects that are less than 50 MW.
He said that this project has been completed by private enterprise and it is strong evidence to the fact that private investors can be engaged if their concerns are addressed.
He maintained that if new feasibility study of Diamir Bhasha Dam ignores the old feasibility report and starts with new one than there is possibility that it will take years to start.
