imagePESHAWAR: The Meteorological Department on Wednesday forecast rain with thundershower at scattered places of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Upper Punjab during next 24 hours as temperature has jumped down due to recent monsoon rain.

According to Spokesman of Met office here, rain is expected in Hazara, Peshawar and Kohat divisions due to seasonal low lies over northwest Balochistan and adjoining areas.Monsoon currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are reaching into central & upper parts of the country.

In next 24 hours, rain-thundershower is forecast at scattered places of Kashmir, Islamabad, Upper Punjab including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Sargodha divisions, Upper KP Hazara, Kohat, Peshawar divisions.

Malakand, D.I.Khan, Zhob, Kalat, Mirpur Khas divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to receive rain while isolated heavy falls are expected in Kashmir, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Gujranwala, Lahore and Hazara divisions during the said period.

Likewise, rain-thundershower is expected at scattered places of Kashmir, Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Sargodha divisions), Upper KP (Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Peshawar divisions), while at isolated places of D.I.Khan, Zhob, Kalat ,Mirpur Khas divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Isolated heavy falls are expected in Kashmir, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Gujranwala, Lahore and Hazara divisions in next 48 hours. Parachinar, DI Khan, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Thandyani, Nathia Gali and Risalpur are likely to receive rain.

Scattered heavy falls occurred in Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Sargodha divisions while isolated rain-thundershower reported from Hazara and Malakand divisions in last 24 hours.

The maximum rain was received by Islamabad (Saidpur) 93milimeter followed by Kotli, Mangla 78, Rawalpindi 75, Jhelum 73, Rawalpindi (Shamsabad) 70, Noorpur Thal 68, Mianwali 65, Risalpur 60, Islamabad (Z/P) 52, Joharabad 22,j Kakul 11, Islamabad (Bokra) 10, Murree 07, Chakwal, Islamabad (Golra) 05, Rawalakot 04, Astore, Dir, Zhob 02, Balakot, Mandibahaudin 01 mm in last 24 hours. The heavy rain in Risalpur has decreased the temperature and people took sigh of relief from the oppressive weather.

Dalbandi and Nokkund with 47 degree centigrade temperature remained the hottest places followed by Sibbi 44 degree C and Sukkur 43 degree C respectively while pollen count yesterday remained 1030/m3.
