Polio case surfaces in FR Bannu

BANNU: Another case of polio virus attack surfaced in FR Bannu area taking the total number of polio cases to 10 in the country during current year.

According to National Institute of Health, the polio case was detected in semi tribal area of Bannu district where presence of the virus was confirmed in one-year-old Ehtisham at village Maltan Khel. The father of the effected child had refused polio drops to his child.

With confirmation of polio case in Maltan Khel, the total number of polio cases in the country has touched 10 while in FATA areas this was the fourth case.

The Institute said that five out of ten polio virus attacks were due to refusal of polio drops by the parents to their children.
