PESHAWAR: The Met Office here Wednesday predicted isolated rain with thunderstorm in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in next 24 hours as yesterday's westerly wave is still prevailing over upper parts of the country.
According to Met Office here, isolated rain is forecast for Peshawar, Malakand, Hazara and Kohat divisions in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the said period.
He said yesterday's westerly wave was still prevailing over upper parts of the country and was likely to move eastward during next 24 hours.
Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, however, isolated rain/thunderstorm was predicted in Upper KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat divisions), Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions), Kashmir & Gilgit-Baltistan.
The weather of Peshawar, Kohat, Malakand, Malakand and Swat will remain cloudy with chances of rain that will bring temperature down.
In last 48 hours, mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, however light rain may occur at one or two places in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore, scattered rain with thunderstorm occurred in North Balochistan, KP, Punjab, Kashmir & Gilgit-Baltistan in last 24 hours.
Joharabad and Barkhan received maximum 13 millimeter rain followed by Dir and Noorpurthal 12, Parachinar 10, Mianwali, Okara 08, D.I Khan 07, Sargodha 06, Zhob 05, Khanpur, Kalat, Faisalabad, Saidu Sharif, Pattan, R.Y Khan 04, Gujranwala, Bannu 03, Sialkot, Mirkhani, Malamjabba, Peshawar 02, Islamabad, Lahore, Drosh, Astore, Kakul, Balakot, Chakwal, D.G Khan, Rawalpindi, M. B. Din & Cherat 01 mm respectively.
The highest 36 degree temperature was recorded in Lahore and Shorkot followed by Faisalabad, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar and Mithi 35 C respectively. Pollen count yesterday remained 663 per cubic meter.
