Dr Huma Baqai terms PM's visit to UK significant

ISLAMABAD: Renowned analyst Dr Huma Baqai has termed Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf's visit to United Kingdom very important especially with regard to the Afghan peace process.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, she said that Britain will have an important role in the withdrawal of the coalition troops from Afghanistan.

Dr Huma said that former Nato commander in Afghanistan Gen Stanly Mc Chrystal also admitted that Islamabad's role is very important for Afghan reconciliation process.

She said that intermediary role of London and Turkey is also important to address issues among Pakistan, Afghanistan and US.

She said that Prime Minister has also assured Pakistani community that free and fair elections would be held in the country.
