LAHORE: Punjab Government is providing 118,000 sacks of certified seeds worth Rs240 million to 25000 farmers of flood hit areas free of cost.
Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Director General Mujhaid Sherdil said on Thursday that wheat would be cultivated on 190,000 acres of land in the province according to a set target.
He said that water rate recovery, agriculture tax has been waived off in flood hit villages while agriculture loans have been deferred.
He said that this year a record production of 37 lac tonnes of rice has been obtained in the province.
Government were taking steps to ensure provision of quality agriculture medicines to growers, he added.
