ILO to hold `Global Youth Employment Forum' from May 23

ISLAMABAD: Against the backdrop of unprecedented youth unemployment levels, International Labour Organization (ILO) will host a `Global Youth Employment Forum' from May 23-25.

The forum to be held at its headquarters in Geneva, will bring together more than 100 youth from around the world for wide-ranging discussion and reflection on the state of the global jobs crisis and the major challenges facing young people in their search for decent work, said a news release issued here.

Young representatives from employer and worker groups, youth associations, and the share their experiences and views, ILO and partner organizations will give practical examples of successful initiatives.

The forum will focus examining the impact of the youth employment crisis and reviewing facts and issues from across different regions; discovering ways to enable access to decent work for young people; including students, interns, informal workers, unpaid family contributors, developing partnerships for more and better jobs for youth.
