ISLAMABAD: Cotton prices have surged in local markets due to increase in export orders.

According to a private news channel, cotton prices witnessed an increase 0f Rs 200 per maund to reach Rs 6,400 per maund in Punjab and Rs 6,200 per maund in Sindh.

According to the market experts, the fresh hike in prices is due to increase in export orders.

Pakistan exported about 1.06 million bales of cotton during last month.
