He urged the businessmen to work extensively to promote local industry in Pakistan. "Pakistan is blessed with abundant resources and our people are equipped with the best of skills that can help develop the country on modern lines," he added.

He caled for providing incentives to the business community associated with the furniture sector.

Dr AQ Khan during his visit to a three-day the 6th Interiors Pakistan mega exhibition at Expo Centre here as a guest of honour lauded the amazing work of younger designers and architectures displaying in the exhibition along with other national and international leading furniture manufacturing companies. PFC Chief Mian Kashif Ashfaq was also present.

The Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) organized its 6th Interiors Pakistan exhibition to create a space for furniture display and its promotion across the country.

Talking to the media, Dr Qadeer Khan said the youth should utilise their abilities to make country prosperous as the youth was a real hope.

He said young and talented Pakistani entrepreneurs could play a significant role in putting the country on the path of development besides help strengthening national economy.

Appreciating PFC Chief Mian Kashif Ashfaq for organizing exhibitions, he said this Interiors Pakistan was a platform for recognition, where successful young entrepreneurs from across the country were invited to showcase their business achievements before business community, representatives from industry, academia and other entrepreneurs.

On this occasion, PFC Chief Mian Kashif Ashfaq said the PFC was committed to supporting Pakistan's young entrepreneurs associated with furniture and interior designing sector whose innovative thinking had the potential to unlock great economic prosperity.

He said such exhibitions provide the younger designers and architects to assess market trends and display their own work alongside that of more established professionals.

He said the Pakistan furniture industry had a great future and: "We predict that the increased exposure through Interiors Pakistan will highlight the skill and talent in the country in future too".

He said Interior's Pakistan was a step towards initiating international trade exhibitions and also to enhance possibility to participate in international exhibitions as a collaborative industry from Pakistan.

"The PFC is also continuing its work to develop a Pakistani presence in more countries and to act as the focal point for Pakistani furniture designers and manufacturers to enter international market," he said and added, however, it required concerted efforts to ensure that raw material was available, skills were taught and quality control was achieved.

Pakistani craftsmen had skill to create exquisite bespoke pieces but standardizing that production to meet the requirements of international markets required input from the Pakistan Furniture Council, he said.

Important exhibitors including Maliks Farooq CEO Interwood, Shahbaz Aslam CEO Charag Din and Sons, Muddassar Shafi Diamond Group, Maqbool Elahi CEO Mohkam Furniture, Rizwan Ahmed CEO National Furniture and GM PFC Hamid Mahmood were also present.
