Excise Dept Sindh achieves cent percent revenue target

KARACHI: The Excise and Taxation Department Government of Sindh has achieved the cent percent target of revenue collection.

The amount thus collected was to the tune of Rs. 41.78 billion, said provincial minister for Excise and Taxation, Giyan Chand Essarani.

He was presiding over a Departmental meeting, says a statement here on Wednesday.

The Minister informed that during eleven months till May Rs. 39.44 billion were recovered while in the current month Rs. 3.94 billion would be recovered and that the major part of it had been recovered.

He said that revolutionary measures had been taken by the Department to eradicate the corruption and zero tolerance was showed in this regard and that made it possible to achieve the 100 percent target.

The Minister was of the view that the Pakistan Peoples Party government had always strived for the welfare and betterment of the people and under leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari they would continue their mission for the progress and development of the province and the country.
