imageISLAMABAD: Islamabad Industrial Area Association (IIAA) President Faridon Khattak Saturday said friendship between Pakistan and China had transformed into a strategic partnership, which would stood for the development and betterment of humankind.

The world would not only marvel at the exemplary ties but would also greatly benefit from them, which would facilitate global peace and stability and open up new avenues of progress and prosperity, he said in a statement issued in connection with the 65th anniversary of Pak-China friendship.

Faridon Khattak said hina-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project was a game changer for not only Pakistan but also for the whole region.

The IIAA, he said, fully supported to the government for carrying out CPEC in terms of development and soliciting Chinese investment in Pakistan.

The CPEC, he said, would open a new era of economic development in the region. It would also create new job opportunities in the country and the business community could get maximum benefit from it, he added.

He demanded the government to declare all industrial areas as loadshedding free zones and Central Asia South Asia (CASA 1000) MW power project should be completed on priority basis so that electricity along with Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan- Pakistan-India (TAPI).

This, he said, would help to meet the energy crisis in the country. It also emphasized that tax rate should be low as uniform and as possible and it must create a regional competitiveness to boost business, he added.

The IIAA chief said that CPEC revolved around the energy cooperation; infrastructure development; Gwadar Port and industrial cooperation. The functioning of Gwadar Port would bring economic development and boost business activities in the country, he added.
