KARACHI: Four ships C.V MSC Toronto, C.V Al Manarnah, M.T Nor Star Intrepid and M.T Sea Delta carrying containers and chemicals were allotted berths at Qasim International container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak terminal respectively on Monday.
Meanwhile three more ships C.V Maersk Denver, M.T Al-Dasma and M.T Liberty-N with containers, diesel oil and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the port at seventy 73% on Monday where a total of eleven ships namely, C.V MSC Toronto, C.V Al-Manamah
C.V Calidris, M.V Adventurer-K, M.V Apollo Bulker, M.V Jewel of Dubai, M.V Elly, M.T SC Jean, M.T Nor Star Intrepid, M.T Maistros, and M.T Sea Delta were occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, chemicals, cargo sorghum palm oil, diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume during last 24 hours stood at 102,109 tonnes, comprising 62,299 tonnes import and 39,810 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,368 containers, (TEUs)(1,138 TUEs imports & 1,230 TEUS exports) was handled at the port.
Three ships M.T SC Jean, M.T Sea Delta and M.V Elly sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while three more ships C.V MSC Toronto, C.V AL-Manamah and MV Jewel of Dubai are expected to sail on someday.
A total of six ship C.V Maersk Denver, C.V MSC Lana, C.V MA CGM Uruguay, M.T Atlantic Glory, M.V KM Tokyo and M.T Bunga Akasia carrying containers, 12,777 tonnes chemicals, 66,000 tonnes soya bean seeds and 34,000 tonnes palm oil are expected t take berths at QICT, EVTL, FAP and LCT respectively on Tuesday, while on oil tanker 'Al- Dasma' carrying 55,000 tonnes diesel oil is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and containers ships 'Northern Jamboree is due to arrive on Wednesday, CMA CGM Corneille and MSC Musan are due arrive on Thursday.
