LAHORE: A delegation from the National Management College Lahore visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and called on Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha here on Wednesday.
The delegation comprised of Capt(R)Saif Anjum, Dr Saad S Khan, Malik Sardar Jatial, Ahmar Ismail, Ahmad Kamal,Ambreen Ahmad Tarar,Asim Ayyaz, Muhammad Asim Halim, Muhammad Afzal Bajwa and Sheryar Taj.
The Vice Chancellor briefed the delegation on the UVAS academic, research, extension and training programmes.
He discussed with them the misconceptions about poultry meat adulteration, poultry feed, poultry nutrition and its growth from the minds of the general public. He also talked about dairy, milk adulteration red meat production, breeding and exports in international markets.
He said that the UVAS was providing its full support to the industry in meat supply chain to ensure safe and quality meat reaching the consumers. He said Pakistan economy was based on agriculture, red meat export could boost agricultural and national economy.
He lauded the efforts of UVAS in research on many project related to poultry sector and its contribution play a vital role to uplift of the livestock, poultry and related sector.
Later, the delegation visited Quality Operation Lab, Pet Center and pathology lab of the UVAS.
