imageKARACHI: Finland played an important role in eliminating poverty through various welfare programmes in Pakistan.

Finland also took active part in the relief activities during the natural disasters in Pakistan, said Senior Vice President of FPCCI Abdul Rahim Janoo while speaking at a seminar on " Doing Business with Finland" here at the Federation House, said FPCCI statement on Tuesday. Among others Parton-in-Chief, S.M Muneer, Vice Presidents FPCCI Waseem Vohra and Shahnawaz Ishtiaq, Honorary Consul General of Finland, Ms. Sadia Khan and other numerous members of business community attened.

Abdul Rahim Janoo said this seminar has provided opportunity to discuss the key issues of trade and economic cooperation and enhance the possibilities of joint ventures and investment activities with Finland.

Pakistan considers Finland an important diplomatic and trade partner. It is good to see that the business community of both countries to understand their market demands and potentials and would take efforts to reduce the communication gap.

The business community of Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Finland. There is great potential with Finland and Pakistan to further enhance the multi-faceted cooperation such as in the areas of trade and investment, IT and software industry, agriculture, culture and education.

Abdul Rahim Janoo said FPCCI is committed to enhance exceptional trade relations of Pakistan with all countries including Finland. FPCCI is playing a key role to attract business community of Pakistan towards Finland.

Both countries have great opportunities to enhance their economic cooperation through B2B meetings, organizing exhibitions and exchanging business delegations.

The regular travelling of businessmen is also an important feature for both countries as it would improve relationship, he added Trade between Finland and Pakistan has been growing progressively over the years and now Pakistan is one of the major trade partners of Finland, he added

Roving Ambassador of Finland, Rauli Suikkanen said that Finland supported Pakistan in getting GSP-plus facility in European Union.

The trade between Finland in Pakistan has increased in the last years.

He appreciated the FPCCI for presenting positive picture of Pakistan pertaining to trade and investment. He assured his full support and briefed the forum about the business opportunities in Finland.

On this occasion, a comprehensive presentation was also given on "Doing Business with Finland," he said.

Patron-in-Chief, S.M. Muneer said that Finland is an important country for Pakistan in trade perspective. This seminar would be beneficial to enhance bilateral trade relations between Finland and Pakistan.

Pakistan is a business friendly country and there are numerous business opportunities available for Finland to invest in Pakistan. Muneer also appreciated the current government for conducting successful operations in Pakistan especially in Karachi.
